Jeff Morris Cherry, 82, passed away on September 21, 2026.

Jeff was born on February 1, 1944, in Los Angeles, California. He spent his early years in California, where he would eventually meet Linda, the woman who would become his wife and partner in life for nearly 40 years.

Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Later, his career with TWA brought Jeff and Linda from California to the Kansas City area, where they made their home. He retired from American Airlines January 1, 2010 after a long and successful career since 1970.

A devout Christian, Jeff’s faith was an important part of who he was. He continued serving others through his work with the Christian Employ Resource Group, serving as National President in 2006 and 2007. He was KC Chap Chairman in 2005, 2008, and 2009. He was actively involved at Harmony Vineyard Church, where he led pastoral care for the church’s senior group. He had a heart for serving others and found purpose in offering friendship, encouragement, and spiritual support to those around him.

Jeff and Linda shared a love of traveling and created many wonderful memories together over the years. Hawaii held a particularly special place in their hearts.

Jeff will be remembered for his devotion to his faith, his service to others, and most of all, the love he shared with Linda, his family, and the many people whose lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, Linda Cherry and dear niece, Mekiesa Ramsey. Jeff will be laid to rest at Terrace Park Cemetery.
