Jerry Leroy Peters, Sr.

Jerry L. Peters, Sr., passed away peacefully at Ignite Medical Resort on August 28, 2025. He was born in St. Joseph, MO, to Melford Lee Peters and Frances Vadonna Ball on October 4, 1934. His parents precede him in death along with his brother, William E. Peters. He is survived by his wife Shirley of 70 years.

Jerry met Shirley at the skating rink in St. Joseph. They moved to Kansas City, MO, in 1967, where he owned Julep Financial Services. Together they were founding members of Tiffany Fellowship Church, enjoyed traveling, and summers at their property in Osage Beach, MO, where Jerry loved fishing, boating with family, and water skiing. They built their dream home in Platte Woods, MO, in 1976 where they still reside.

Besides his wife, Shirley, Jerry is survived by his three children, Brenda K. Ryan (Maurice) of Piper, KS, Jerry L. Peters, Jr. (Cherie) of Osage Beach, MO, and Kerri K. Cassity (Steven) of Fort Collins, CO; five grandchildren, Minda Conyers (Eric), Joshua Peters (Kristin), Chelsea Yeich (James), Elizabeth Royeton (Michael), and Elaina Cassity, plus eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ephraim, Rachael, James, Zoe, Esther, Oliver, and Beckett.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Tiffany Fellowship Church on Wednesday, September 3rd with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and funeral service at 11:00 am, followed by burial with military honors at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Operation Life Support.
