Jim Allen, a devoted husband, cherished friend, and master carpenter, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 15, 1938, Jim dedicated his life not only to his craft but also to his beloved wife, Sharon, with whom he shared 65 beautiful years of marriage. Their love story is one that will be remembered and celebrated as they marked their anniversary just weeks before his passing on April 23rd.
Throughout his career, Jim poured his heart and soul into his work as a carpenter, serving with distinction at both Neighbors Construction and Straub Construction from the age of 22 until his retirement at 62. His craftsmanship was a reflection of his gentle spirit and attention to detail, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jim made extraordinary memories with his family and friends. He was passionate about the great outdoors, enjoying fishing trips as far as Canada and creating lasting memories while camping at the Lake of the Ozarks. Whether he was out on the water boating with loved ones or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, Jim's love for life was evident.
In addition to his love for family and adventure, Jim was deeply involved with his faith. He played an important role in the leadership of his hometown churches, demonstrating a commitment to service that inspired those around him. His gentle demeanor and willingness to help others, especially his wife Sharon, defined his personality and touched countless lives.
Jim's legacy will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His warmth, compassion, and unwavering support will be missed dearly. As we honor his memory, we celebrate not just the man he was, but the love he fostered within his family and community.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents: Carl Allen and Lois (Gillespie) Hazelrigg; brothers: Kenneth Allen and Gregory Allen; and his son: Jeffrey Scott Allen.
He is survived by his loving wife: Sharon Allen of 65 years; daughter: Sherri (Peter) Zarse; grandchildren: Meghan (Kyle) Clark, Dr. Matthew (Dr. Erica) Zarse; Mitchell Zarse, and Zach (Sunny) Allen; and great grandchildren: Brayden Clark, Kenzie Clark, Kelce Clark, Calvin Zarse, and Leo Zarse.
