It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Johanna C. McDaniel, born on April 12, 1936, in Dresden, Germany. Johanna left this world on October 12, 2025, after a life rich with love and devotion to her family.
Johanna was not just a devoted wife and mother; she was a nurturer who dedicated her life to her family. She shared 68 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband, Mac. Their remarkable love story began when Johanna, with a sparkling determination, picked Mac out from a squadron yearbook, proclaiming he was the one for her. This profound connection blossomed into a lifetime of cherished memories as they embraced family togetherness, crafting a home that was filled with warmth and love.
She was a woman of admirable strength and passionate spirit. Johanna was not only proud of her role as a devoted mother, but she was also a beloved Oma to her grandchildren, leaving an enduring legacy of love that they will carry on forever.
Being with her family was her top priority. She had a passion for cooking and loved preparing everyone’s favorite dishes. She also enjoyed camping and traveling the world, especially visiting Hawaii and Germany to spend time with loved ones.
She is survived by her loving husband William “Mac” McDaniel; her children, Debbie (David) Smith, Cindy (Bob) Steinebach; grandchildren, Kevin (Megan), Brian (Becky), Kaitlyn (Wes), Christa (Greg), Johanna (Luke), Bobby (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Abby, Jack, Emmy, Charlie, and Lila. As well as many other family members and friends.
