John Smith, Sr.

November 4, 1932 — November 10, 2020

John Neal Smith, 88, recently of Cameron, MO, died peacefully, on Tuesday November 10, 2020.  He was born November 4, 1932, in Monticello, Indiana to the late Charles and Nettie (Andrews) Smith.

His family was his world; He was a courageous Man and devoted Husband of 67 years before the loss of Roberta. He loved to listen and dance to Elvis with Roberta. He retired from the Air Force and began working as a Federal Police Officer until full retirement.

He is survived by his Children John (Twyla) Smith, Dave (LeAnn) Smith and Diana (Robert) Jackson; Grandchildren Christy, Derek, Farrell, Mandy, Jereme, Sarah, Jordan, Kyle and Rachel; great-grandchildren Declan, Auburn, Owen, Easton, Ivy, Ian, Caleb and Scarlet.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his loving wife Roberta and his great-grandson Cross X. Smith.

Visitation will be Monday, November 16, 2020 from 10-11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Funeral service to follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church 8029 N Oak Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64118.  Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneralHome.com.
