Julia Lee Bargman, 47, of Smithville, MO passed away November 10, 2010 at her home. She was born January 2, 1963 in Mt. Ayr, Iowa to Bill and Bonnie Farrell.  Julia attended Smithville schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade. While in school she was active in cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, track and many school clubs. Julia was also crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. She graduated Smithville High School with Honors in 1981. Upon completion of High School she attended William Jewell College where she ran track, was named athlete of the year in 1983-84, was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority while also representing the Sorority in the Tattler Competition, and was a member of the Cheerleading and Pom Pon Squad. In August 1990 she was joined in marriage to William Scott Bargman of Lee's Summit. They later found their home in Smithville. Julia began her career working for the NAIA, but later found her love of teaching at Smithville Middle School as a P.E. Teacher. She then went on to get her Master's Degree at Northwest Missouri State University. After completion of her Master's Degree she went on to become the Counselor for Smithville Middle School. Among the many things Julia did for the School District, she was well known for her leadership role as High School Assistant Cross Country Coach and Middle School Track Coach. Along with leading several of the School Organizations, she was also the head Cheerleading Coach at the High School for several years.She is survived by her husband Scott and their two sons, William Zachary and Troy Douglas Bargman. Her parents Bill and Bonnie Farrell of Smithville, Brothers; Kelly Farrell and his sons Justin and Jeremy, St. Peters, MO Troy Farrell, his wife Shellie and their children, Tyler, Teegan, and Jayce, Smithville, Sister; Jodi Green and husband Charlie and their children, Joshua and Tiffany, Smithville. Her Mother and Father in law; Bill and Carol Bargman of Lee's Summit. Sisters in law, Tricia Bargman, Lee's Summit; Tracy Battmer and husband Kent and their children, Emily and Amanda of Kansas City. She also leaves behind Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and an endless number of friends.A Celebration of Life will be held at Smithville High School on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 1PM to 4PM.Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Monday, November 15, 2010 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home and burial to follow at Ridgley Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Julia Bargman Memorial Fund.  Donations may be made at the Celebration of Life, Funeral Home, or First Bank of Missouri, 1304 169 Hwy.
