Kenneth Michael Edmondson, affectionately known to friends and family as Ken, was born on September 14, 1943, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He peacefully departed from this world on May 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication.

Ken’s career was marked by an impressive tenure in the airline industry, where he worked for Braniff Airways, Inc, Texas International, Continental Airlines, and Northwest Airlines. Over the course of 25 years, he held various managerial positions and became well-respected in his field. Even after his retirement, Kenneth continued to exemplify a strong work ethic by assisting in multiple roles at various companies, notably at Whiteman Air Force Base, where he contributed with crash & rescue on the fire department.

A man of deep faith and conviction, Ken proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. His service was honored with a Commendation for good conduct, a testament to his commitment and integrity.

Ken was not only a devoted employee but also a loving husband and father. He shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Cheryl. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, compassion, and countless cherished memories. Ken was known for his kind and loving nature, always prioritizing family above all else.

Beyond his professional accomplishments and family life, Ken found joy in various hobbies. He was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly enjoying playing baseball and watching football. His love for animals was evident in his affection for both cats and dogs, which brought him much happiness over the years. Additionally, Ken expressed his creativity and contemplative side through painting and reading, pursuits that he cherished deeply.

Kenneth Michael Edmondson will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his commendable career, and his steadfast service to his country. He leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Billy and Margaret Edmondson.

He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Edmondson; his son Charlie (Tiffany) Edmondson; daughters, Kristen (Tyler) Forbes, and Leslie (Barry) Dolan; his brother Billy (Linda) Edmondson; grandchildren, Waylon, Alexis, Dalton, Avery, and Olivia as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Kenneth’s family would like to thank all of the kind and wonderful people with One Community Hospice.

A graveside service will be held in his honor on June 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate Ken's life and share in the remembrance of a truly remarkable man.
