Larry Alvin Douglas, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 14, 2022. Larry was born on July 14, 1935, in Upton Wyoming, fourth-born of four, to Albert Lester Douglas and Marie Antoinette Norris. Larry grew up in Upton on a cattle ranch until he married. Larry worked hard to provide for his family. He held many positions at AT&T for 25 years, requiring frequent moves across the country, finally settling his family in Kansas City, Missouri. When not at work you could find Larry in the garage tinkering with a car or in the basement repairing someone’s radio or TV set. He could fix most anything. Larry retired from AT&T in 1989. Shortly after he moved to Buena Vista Colorado, where he started his second career as an electrician apprentice. Larry was stubborn, strong willed and opinionated, as well as gentle, loving and kind. Sharing a meal and quality time with loved ones, playing card games and reminiscing is what gave him the most joy. Larry was very detail oriented and a PLANNER. He had everything planned out for us in our time of grief. He only forgot one thing – writing this obituary! We love you dad.
He will be greatly missed by his six children (Jim, Joni, Bini, Pam, Tracy, and Paul), five grandchildren (Anna, Jenifer, Daniel, Jessica, and Brenna), and three great-grandchildren (Bodhi, Miles and Brooks) as well as extended family and many friends.
Private family services to be held at a later date.
