Lawrence E. Perry, born on June 23, 1932, and a beloved figure in his community, passed away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 93. Lawrence lived a life characterized by dedication, service, and an unwavering commitment to his family and career.
For 33 years, Lawrence served as an electrical engineer for Bayer Corp., where he was known as a hardworking and dedicated employee.
Lawrence's life was defined not only by his career but also by his profound love for family. He took great joy in teaching his children to ride anything with wheels, and how to shoot various firearms, as well as the bow and arrow. Imparting skills that would create lasting memories. An avid outdoorsman, he fostered a deep appreciation for nature and fishing.
A proud veteran, Lawrence served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a medic out of Camp McCoy. His bravery and dedication earned him high honors, including the Service Medal Bronze Star, the Purple Star, and a U.N. Service Medal. This experience shaped not only his character but also instilled in him a sense of responsibility and care for others.
Lawrence's educational background included graduating from North East High School, after which he enlisted in military service. Following his honorable discharge, he pursued and completed his bachelor’s degree, exemplifying his commitment to lifelong learning and personal development.
He was known for his patient, quiet, and kind demeanor, a personality that endeared him to many. Lawrence enjoyed spending time with friends, often visiting the casino for a bit of fun. He valued his relationships and cherished the connections he made throughout his life.
In his leisure time, Lawrence embraced a variety of hobbies, including travel, biking, and all things golf.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Winifred Perry; brothers, Gerold Perry, and Ronald Perry; sisters, Winifred Wood, and Beverly Whitten; grandchildren, Jeremy Rice, and Debra Washington.
He is survived by; daughter, Denice Patires; son, Robert Perry; daughter, Dianna StJohn; 4 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; as well as many other treasured family members and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on October 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM, with a graveside service scheduled for 2:15 PM. All are invited to come together to honor and celebrate the life of this remarkable man.
