Lena B. Elder, born on November 5, 1944, in Leachville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025. A devoted family member and cherished friend, Lena was well-known for her nurturing spirit and her unwavering dedication to those she loved. She spent 33 years in loving marriage with her husband, George, who preceded her in death. Their bond was a testament to the strength and joy of companionship.
Lena had a brilliant personality; she was small but mighty, fearlessly speaking her mind and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her good sense of humor brought light to those around her, making any gathering a memorable occasion. Family was at the core of Lena's existence, and she took great pride in creating warm memories, especially during the holiday season. She adored preparing delicious meals and hosting gatherings, ensuring that her loved ones felt cherished and connected.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, as she left an indelible mark on the hearts of family and friends alike. Lena's life was filled with love, laughter, and many memories that will be treasured forever.
Lena is preceded in death by her parents Dee Healey & Lorene Halsema; her husband George K. Elder; and her baby sister, Evalee Healey.
She is survived by her daughter George Ann (Max) Harding; Grandsons, Kenneth (Crystal) Harding, Kevin Harding, Kyle (Jessica) Harding; great-grandchildren, Alayna Harding, Ashleigh Harding, Dayton Harding, Jonluke Harding, Mireille Harding, Elliana Harding, Arabella Harding, great-great-granddaughter Makayla Harding; and grand-dogs, Lily & Daisy.
A visitation in Lena's honor is scheduled for December 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM at the Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155. The interment will take place immediately following the service at 11:45 AM.
