Linda Lou Fuher-Kester, born April 12, 1950, departed this life on July 7, 2026. Linda’s time among us was marked by deep compassion, selflessness, and dedication to her family.
A proud daughter, Linda graduated from high school in Edgeley, North Dakota, with the class of 1968. Her commitment to personal growth and learning led her on to flight attendant school shortly after her graduation.
A chance encounter with Darrell Kester changed everything. Linda ultimately got a job as a respected member of the accounting department for an insurance company who retained her of the course of several ownership changes until she took her well earned retirement. She remained married to Darrell for 54 years and during that time gave birth to her son Wayne. She also stepped in to raise Tonia Kester as her as her own at the age of 5 displaying a true mother’s love without hesitation.
Linda’s true legacy lies in the warmth and steadfastness she brought to her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, whose greatest joy was to fill her home with love and meaningful traditions—especially cherished during the holidays. Her family was the heart of her world, and she was immensely proud of the life she and Darrell built together, nurturing and guiding those dearests to her.
Known for her giving nature, Linda’s kindness extended well beyond her own household. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and was dedicated to supporting charities, touching countless lives through her generosity and quiet acts of service.
Linda enjoyed bowling, crafting, sewing, painting, and baking. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking and could whip up a delicious meal in no time. Family tradition and holidays with her family will forever be treasured.
Linda’s absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the traditions she established, the selflessness she modeled, and the love she so freely gave.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Nels and Florence Fuher, and grandson, Michael Luckey.
She is survived by her husband Darrell Kester; children, Darla K. (Harold) McDonald, Tonia (Keith) Ellis, Wayne (Denise) Kester, and Janelle Luckey; grandchildren, Brooke, James, Velara, Chastity, Krista, Miranda, Harlee, Justin, Matthew, Brianna, Cheyenne, Tyler, and 29 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Linda’s life at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155. Visitation will be held on July 14, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with interment immediately after.
Linda Lou Fuher-Kester’s legacy will endure—in the hearts of her loved ones, in the moments of kindness she inspired, and in the enduring spirit of generosity that defined her well-lived life. She will be dearly missed, always remembered, and forever cherished.
