Linda Brieger Maus

Linda Brieger Maus, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on October 1, 1943, in Hagerstown, Maryland, Linda lived a life devoted to her family, faith, and community.

Linda dedicated many years of her career to health care, serving as an assistant in the emergency room at St Luke’s. It was a role she embraced, especially after surviving breast cancer. She earned the fondness and respect of her coworkers with hard work and dedication. However, her professional path did not begin until after her children were older, showcasing her commitment to her family during their formative years.

A graduate of high school in 1961 in Dallas, Linda continued her education at Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. Linda was a devout woman of faith as evidenced by her involvement at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and her active prayers to St. Jude.

Linda's life was a testament to the importance of family. She was married to her loving husband Bill for an impressive 61 years, embodying the essence of partnership and companionship. Family was her life, and she served as the rock that held them together, always prioritizing their needs and happiness. Linda's devotion extended to her grandchildren, as she attended all of their activities, dance performances, graduations, and sports events, proudly cheering them on. She, along with other mothers created the Doting Mothers, a group of friends that have remained close to this day.

Linda shared a special bond with her sisters, traveling to spend cherished moments with them. These relationships were a source of joy in her life, highlighting the importance she placed on family connections.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Gordon Brieger; daughter Mary; sisters Sandi Ray and Gwen Brieger.

She is survived by her loving husband William Maus; sons, Mike (Renae) Maus; Matt Maus; Mark (Katie) Maus; grandchildren, Randy (Whitney), Andrew, Nicole, Grant (McKayla), Joe, Chris, Emily, Hadlie, Ava, and Quentin; 8 great-grandchildren, Kimmi, Mary-Lou, Wesley, Benjamin, Bentley, DeLuka, Koe,and Oaklynn; sisters, Marcia Marshall and Karen (Jon) Lashbrook.

In honoring her memory, a Memorial Gathering will be held on January 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Smithville, Missouri. The Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM with Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. An inurnment ceremony will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Kansas City at 1:30 PM.

Linda Brieger Maus will be remembered for her loving spirit, her faith, and her unwavering dedication to family. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
