Marcia Ruth (Mueller) Sharp, 77, of Gladstone, MO, passed away on March 30, 2022.
Marcia was born on May 29, 1944 to Frederick and Irma Mueller in Evanston, IL. After graduating from Arlington High School in 1962, she went on to study for a year at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI.
She started her job at Braniff Airlines in Chicago and was transferred to Kansas City soon after. She worked at the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport until the Kansas City International Airport was built in 1972.
In 1964, she met William John Sharp, who also worked for Braniff. They wed in 1966, going on to have two daughters,Mandy Elise and Joy Beth.
Marcia dedicated her life to her family. She welcomed the girls’ friends into their home for meals and sleep overs. She loved hosting the youth group from church. Bill and Marcia enjoyed eating out with friends and family. It was more about the people than the food. For many years you would find the Sharp family at Godfather’s Pizza with half of Northwest Bible Church on Sunday nights.
Marcia was an amazing Nana to her grandsons. She would drop everything to help Joy with the boys. She made all their baby food and couldn’t get enough hugs and kisses! It was an adjustment to understand little boys, but she did it with grace.
Marcia was a passionate follower of Jesus. Her earthly and eternal life were forever changed the day she decided to become a Christian. Until the end, she wanted others to know about Jesus and share her faith.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: Frederick; her husband: Bill; and other friends and family.
She is survived by daughter: Mandy Sharp, daughter: Joy (Sharp) Colvin; son-in-law: Kevin Colvin; and grandsons Kolter Michael and Jett Bradford.
Visitation will be at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Saturday, April 9 at 10:00am, with a service following at 11:00am. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors in Marcia’s name.
