Marion Lucille Coffman, a beloved figure in the North Kansas City community, passed away on September 27, 2024 at the age of 83. Born on February 14, 1941, Marion lived a rich and full life marked by her dedication to family and passion for service.
In her early years, Marion spent time hair dressing. She spent over 25 years working as a school bus driver for the North Kansas City School District, a role that showcased her commitment to caring for the children of her community. Her presence in the Northland made her a familiar face and a cherished member of the local landscape.
Marion was a proud mother of two boys and took great joy in watching her grandchildren grow up. She treasured the time spent with them, always staying actively involved in their lives. Described as someone who "always knew what was happening in the Northland," she was well-informed and engaged with her surroundings.
Her personality shone through in her love for entertainment. Marion was an avid viewer of beloved television shows like "Young and the Restless" and "Golden Girls," delighting in the stories and characters that resonated with her. A true movie buff at heart, she also enjoyed listening to music from artists such as Shirley Bassey, Neil Diamond, and Elvis Presley, filling her life with melodies that stirred memories and emotions.
She will be remembered not only for her contributions to her profession and community but also for her unwavering love for her family and the joy she brought to those around her. Marion Lucille Coffman leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit, cherished by all who knew her.
Marion was preceded in death by her siblings: Robert Cornett, Buddy Cornett, Joe Cornett, Maetha Cornett, Hazel Cornett, and Thelma Cornett; as well as her very close family friend: Lena Digiovanni.
She is survived by her children: Thomas (Teresa) Coffman, and Kevin Coffman; grandchildren: Tommy Coffman, Suzi Coffman, Ed Coffman, Jordan Coffman, Travis Hill, TrevorLarge-Coffman, Samantha Coffman, and Kevin Coffman; and her sister: JoAnn Spence.
