Marshall Swadley

October 30, 1948 — June 9, 2021

Marshall Lee Swadley, 72, of Kansas City passed away June 9, 2021. He was born to Blond and Velma (Garner) Swadley in Springfield, Missouri on October 30, 1948.

After working hard and putting himself through college, Marshall graduated from Wichita State University on May 18, 1975, with a Bachelor of Electric Engineering. Marshall married Penny Kesterson and created many family memories. Having worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 40 years, he retired in 2013. Marshall had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He enjoyed golfing and watching Nascar races. Marshall loved corvettes and has owned two of them. Penny jokes that he sold one so she could have part of his beloved garage as her own.

Marshall was an all-around good guy. He did the right thing but still had a wild hair. His family and friends meant the world to him, and he would have done anything for any of them.

Marshall is preceded in death by his mother and father.

He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Penny Swadley and many family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17 from 12-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2 pm at Terrace Park Funeral Home – Lakeside Chapel, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155. Burial will take place following funeral service in Terrace Park Cemetery.
