Marvin Speiser

Marvin William Speiser, 99, passed away on January 10, 2022. Marvin was born on February 8, 1922 in Forest Green, Missouri to Irvin and Dora (Klaus) Speiser. He grew up on his family farm and attended school in Glasgow, MO where he met his wife, Marjorie, and the two were married on September 15, 1940. In 1943, he joined the Army Air Corps, where he served as an aerial gunner during World War II. Upon his return to the United States he went to work for CPC International working as an electrician for over 40 years. Marvin and Marjorie enjoyed taking their family on camping trips and also enjoyed dancing together, specifically the waltz and two-step. After Marvin retired, he a Marjorie moved to Pom De Terre Lake where they continued their love of dancing and traveling. They would travel around in their motor home helping to build churches and volunteering where needed. They spent winters living in Mission, Texas and cherished the times they could see their children and grandchildren.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; son, Phillip; and brother, Eldred. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children, Beryl (Dana) Speiser and Sheila Baker; grandchildren, Jayleen (Jeff) Pfaffly, Chad Speiser, Tracy (Scott) Opoka, Rochelle Willson, and Jason Whitthar; 13 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery – Lakeside Chapel on Saturday, January 15th at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or the Wounded Warrior Project.
