Jayne Butterworth, 82, of Kansas City, MO died at home on Thursday, June 10, 2021. She was born in New Kensington, PA on January 17, 1939, to Elmer and Faye (Shannon) Double.
Jayne came to Kansas City in 1958. There, she worked for Holiday Inn as the executive housekeeper. Jayne was awarded the National Executive Housekeeper of the year for Holiday Inn in 1979. She loved to quilt and work in the garden and her flower beds. She and late husband, Tom Butterworth, visited all 50 states, most on their motorcycles. Together, the two were members of the 2-Wheelers Motorcycle Club for 17 years. She joined the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in 1970 and was served as the president for two years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Tom” Butterworth in 2017.
Jayne is survived by daughters; Vicky (Randy) Dean, Lori (Chris) Stone, Cathy Butterworth, and Connie (Shelly Swartz) Butterworth. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 siblings.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO.
