Mary Louise Hathcock, passed away on June 21, 2024.

Mary was born on February 16, 1943 in Bakersfield, Missouri to Burl and Myrtle Roberts. As a young girl she learned to play the piano and possessed a beautiful singing voice. She also made many lifelong friends with whom she continued to stay in touch with. After graduating from high school, Mary married the love of her life, Hadley Hathcock, on September 24, 1961. They were inseparable for 60 years until Hadley's passing in 2020. Together, they relocated to the Kansas City area, where they built a loving home and raised their family. Mary dedicated herself to a career in accounting and administration for various Ford dealerships until her retirement in the early 1990s. Never one to sit idle, she found joy in a second career driving a school bus for the North Kansas City School District alongside her husband—a job that brought her immense fulfillment and allowed her to positively impact the lives of countless children. Outside of work, she was often found enjoying the outdoors. Whether it was at a local lake or while vacation to Colorado or Canada, she enjoyed fishing (usually catching more fish than anyone else) as well as tending to an impressive garden filled with every fruit, vegetable, and flower adapted to the Midwest climate. Her greatest source of joy was being involved in her children's and grandchildren's activities. She and her husband were also devout Christians and proud members of Nashua Church of Christ.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hadley Hathcock; and children, Michael Hathcock, Brant Hathcock, and Cynthia Hathcock. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her son, Darin (Brandi) Hathcock; grandchildren, Nixon Hathcock, Marston Hathcock, and Vandyl Hathcock; beloved pup, Reggie; and many extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, with visitation from 1:00pm to, 2:00pm, followed immediately by the funeral service at 2:00pm. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 27th at 1:00pm at the Gospel Hill Cemetery in Pottersville, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nashua Church of Christ.
