Melanie Lynn Engle

December 12, 1964 — March 30, 2024

Melanie Lynn Engle, passed away on March 30, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy filled with love, strength, and cherished memories. Melanie led a fulfilling life as a self-employed court reporter and was a dedicated member of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA). Her passion for her work shone brightly through her commitment and professionalism. She was born on December 12, 1964 to Donald and Collene Engle. Melanie was a graduate of Ankeny High School and attended American Institute of Business (AIB) in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a momma bear” to her two children whom she loved dearly.

Those who knew Melanie will remember her as a vibrant soul who had a knack for solving mysteries within the pages of books. Her collection of elephants and lighthouses spoke to her adventurous spirit and love for exploration. Melanie's feisty nature was complemented by her ability to light up any room with her infectious energy, especially when she hit the dance floor.

Above all, Melanie was known for being a devoted Mehm to her children. The love she had for them, and her grandchildren knew no bounds. She embodied strength and independence while remaining kind-hearted—a true testament to her beautiful soul.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, aunt Margaret, and uncle Clint.

Surviving Melanie are her parents, Donald and Collene; children: Dallas Perry, and Mallory (R.J.) Domingo; grandchildren: Emma and Ariella; brother: David (Tami) Engle; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends; as well as her furry friend: Lula.
