Mercedes "Dee" Parrett

October 2, 1931 — June 15, 2022

Mercedes “Dee” M. Parrett, 90, of Kansas City, Missouri entered the gates of Heaven on June 15, 2022. She was born to the late Elmer and Lillie Round on October 02, 1931. She married the love of her life, Charles Parrett, on May 08, 1952.

Dee was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. She worked full time as a housewife, caring for her loving family. She owned Dee’s Denim Depot with her husband and spent 10 years at the North Kansas City Hospital in the ICU as a secretary.

She was a faithful servant of Christ. Dee was a prayer warrior for those who knew her. She was a member of First Baptist Church North Kansas City.

Dee spent time helping others in the senior housing and nursing homes where she lived and loved to serve coffee and help in any way that she could. She was the Council President at one facility and found great joy in participating in the pageants held at the facility.

Many of hobbies that Dee enjoyed were crocheting, painting pictures, and laughing with her friends and family. She was kind, courageous, and full of life. Dee will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Survivors include her children: Pamela Cooley, Michael (Linda) Parrett, and Denise (David) Norton; grandchildren: Jacob, Jared, Jeffrey, Megan, Autumn, Ryan, and Aaron; as well as 11 great grandchildren.
