Myra L. Coffman Winans, 56, of Kansas City, Missouri was a caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on February 26, 2022 at age 56, shortly after an operation at North Kansas City Hospital.

After graduating from Park Hill High School, she graduated from the University of Missouri and then began a career in public service, where she met and then later married her husband Rick Winans. After a transfer to another branch of government, she volunteered to serve duty in New York City as the city was recovering from the 9/11 attacks.
A lifetime resident of the Kansas City area, Myra was an ardent sports fan of all of the area teams. Myra was always active in the community with Girl Scouts, 4-H, Job’s Daughters, Eastern Star and teaching Sunday School at Platte Woods United Methodist Church. She excelled at music, being able to sight read music and played multiple instruments, including the viola and piano. She loved the arts, attending many concerts, musicals and plays. Myra loved spending time with family and friends and was known for a loud and contagious laugh and a bright smile.
Myra is survived by husband Rick and children Megan and Ryan, father Henry and brother Phillip.
