Pastor William Hopkins

Pastor John William Hopkins was born August 10, 1943, to Willie and Viola Hopkins, in Summerfield, Oklahoma. He is the oldest of 6 children. He passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 80.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Viola Hopkins, brother: Gary Hopkins, and sister: Loretta Wilson. He is survived by his wife: Sharon Hopkins of Branson, Missouri, son: Kevin Hopkins of Blue Springs, Missouri, and daughter: Alesia House of Dallas, Texas. He has 4 grandchildren: Cassie Daus, Matthew House, Autumn House, and Kaylee Hopkins; 4 step grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren: Colson, Nathan, and Saylor Daus, and 2 step great-grandchildren. Also, his sister: Sherlin Reed of Bolivar, Missouri, brother: Egil Hopkins of Bates City, Missouri, and brother: Oran Hopkins of Liberty, Missouri.

William graduated from Park High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He also graduated from Word of Faith Bible School.

William married Sharon Kay Bost on June 18, 1966. They resided in Kansas City, Missouri until 1982. William worked at Consolidated Freightways before becoming a pastor. William and Sharon pioneered Faith and Love Fellowship in St. Joseph, Missouri, on February 14, 1982, until 1993. In 1997, they also pioneered Faith and Love Family Church in Sedalia, Missouri. After that, they traveled, assisting other ministries as the Lord directed, with stops in Michigan, Texas, and Oklahoma before retiring in Branson, Missouri in 2012, which had been their get-a-way spot for many years.

William was known for his soft heart towards people and the things of God, as well as his sense of humor and quick wit.

William enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren and the many friendships he had developed over the years.

A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home on Thursday, March 07, 2024 with a service to follow the next day, honoring his life,  Smithville Family worship Center in Smithville, Missouri, on March 08, 2024 at 1PM.
