Rafael Araiza

Rafael Olivero Araiza, 76, passed away on September 25, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri. Rafael was born on September 14, 1945 in Cortazar, Guanajuato, Mexico to Jesus and Margarita (Tovar) Araiza. In 1972 he married Maria Hortencia Silva, who was his perfect partner in life.

Rafael’s vitality was embodied by his openness and infectious sense of adventure. He had a selfless devotion to his family and a gift for making friends.  After retirement from Ford Motor Company, Rafael found joy and purpose staying active with his passion for home renovation. If there was a challenge, Rafael would solve it. His greatest joys were his two grandchildren. Rafael’s memory will be cherished by his family forever.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Maria Hortencia; 2 sons: Adan (Roberto) Araiza, and Alfredo (Joey) Araiza; grandchildren: Alex and Mia; 7 sisters; 3 brothers.

A Celebration of Life for Rafael will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1:00-2:30 PM at the Lakeside Chapel located at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 801 N.W. 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155.
