Rodney “Rod” Bailey, 64, of Parkville, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, leaving behind a legacy etched in the hearts of all who knew him. He was born in Excelsior Springs, Missouri to Judy (Meek) and the Late Bill Bailey.
For Rod riding his Harley wasn't just a hobby; it was about adventure and the open road. His family was the source of his greatest joys, especially his Grandchildren. His love for them knew no bounds. Rod's love for the great outdoors was undeniable. Whether he was hanging out on his boat at Perry Lake or braving the slopes as a member of the Ski Patrol in Weston, he loved to be active. He was also an avid sports fan, his enthusiasm for the Chiefs, Royals, and NASCAR was undeniable. Professionally, Rod was the owner of his own IT company, he navigated the complexities of the digital world with skill and determination.
He is survived by his mother Judy Bailey, Sisters Pamela Palash and Brenda Bailey (Donna Heien), Daughter, Ashley Bailey and Son, Dustin Bailey, Numerous related and non-related Grandchildren, his significant other, Michelle Marrant and his faithful dog, Axel.
In addition to his father, Bill Bailey, Rod is preceded in death by his sister Shelly Berry and his grandparents Mildred and Bill Bailey.
Everyone is expected to dress comfortably and casually (Jeans and t-shirts encouraged) when we gather Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 3-4 PM with a celebration of life service at 4 PM all at Terrace Park Funeral Home. If you would like to pay special honor to Rod, in lieu of flowers you may do so by making a contribution to the family cemetery Hickory Grove Cemetery.
