August 30, 1939 — July 25, 2021

Ronald E. Gabbert of Pleasant Valley, MO passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at home with his loving wife of 62 years by his side.

Ronald was born on August 30, 1939 to Jesse and Laura Gabbert and was a lifelong resident of Clay County. It was in grade school that he met the love of his life, Wanda Blackmore, but it wasn’t until after they were finished with their schooling that they began their relationship and were married.

He was active in the Boy Scouts Troop 214 for many years, the Tribe of Mic-o-say, and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Ronald retired from the railroad and then Federal Express. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and traveling with family and friends.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Lehman; brother, Bobby; and son, David.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 62 years (and one week), Wanda; daughters, Ronda Westrope and Juliana (Mike) Pinnick; five grandchildren; a great granddaughter; twin brother, Donald; and sister, Elizabeth Doolan.

Visitation will be held at Terrace Park (Mount Moriah) on Thursday, July 29 from 10:00 to 11:00, with the celebration of life at 11:00am and burial following. A luncheon will follow at the Pleasant Valley Community Center ( 6805 Sobbie Rd, Pleasant Valley, MO 64068) at 12:30pm.
