It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Herring, aged 80, who left us peacefully on June 14, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Born in Moline, Illinois to Robert and Edith (Danielson) Herring, Ronald lived a life full of love, wisdom, and purpose. He was known for his kindness, friendly personality, and adventurous spirit. He graduated from Galt High School in 1963 in Galt, MO. Ronald served as an Aerographer’s Mate from 1964-1968 in Guam. Ronald worked at Modine Manufacturing for 18 years, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, and was recognized for his dedication and hard work. Following this, Ronald spent 15 years with Anderson Wholesale.
Outside of his professional life, he had a passion for the Kansas City Chiefs and working in the garage on his car with family. Ronald built a 1965 Cobra and participated in car shows, which brought him joy and fulfillment throughout his life. Whether it was working on cars with his family or serving in the Navy, Ronald was always there for those he loved.
Ronald leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family, including his wife Sharon, son Mark Crawford (Sharon) of Moberly, MO, sister Patty Kriewitz of Chillicothe, MO, five grandchildren Mason Crawford (Ashley Isby), Merrit Crawford (Alli), Milan Crawford (Jada), Erika Moore (Zackery), Eryn Hardwick (Rhett), and six great grandchildren Emrie, Madden, Reese, Casen, Rory, Leo. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Crowder of El Dorado Springs, MO, sons Michael and Randall Crawford.
In his later years, Ronald found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing his wisdom and life lessons. His presence in their lives will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of life with military honors will be held Saturday, June 21st at 1:00 PM at Terrace Park Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Croix in Moberly, MO in Ronald’s memory.
Rest in peace, Ronald Herring. You were deeply loved, and your memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
