Ronald Lee Kennedy

March 13, 1939 — September 9, 2025

Ronald Lee Kennedy was born on March 13th, 1939 in Bolckow, MO. He was the first child of Lois and Kenneth Kennedy. He grew up in Bolckow among many cousins and graduated from Bolckow High School in 1957. After a few jobs, he joined and served in the U.S. Army. He was an MP stationed in Hawaii. After his service ended he continued his education at St. Joseph Jr college, and Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. Before moving to Springfield, Ron married his girlfriend, Karen Denman. Later two daughters would be born to them, Karmen, and Christy. Ron tried different occupations before becoming a department manager at Montgomery Wards. When that company shut down, he found employment at Kansas City's Parks and Recreation where he worked until he retired in the early 2000s.

He was baptized at the Bolckow Christian church and joined God's family on his 16th birthday. From that time on, come rain, shine or snow he was always sitting in a pew every Sunday morning. His Bible is peppered with underlined verses, dates and short prayers. Even during difficult times, he remained faithful. Ron had a unique uninhibited personality and could embarrass or delight those around him. He was generous with his time and money, especially when it came to his daughters and grandchildren. He took time for people, visiting them, sending cards, and making phone calls. And after retirement he took time to go to car shows, And check out different features of cars with his friend Tony. Ron is survived by his daughter, Christy, grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Chase and Olivia, great grandchildren and his sister Judith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, daughter Karmen, and brother, Gary.

On Sept. 9th, Ron joined his heavenly family, free of pain, free of his wheelchair, resting in the arms of God. Someday we hope to see him again, and will probably find him listening to Elvis' gospel music.
