On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, Scottie K. Shafar, loving husband, father of two children, grandfather to five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, passed away at the age of 84.
Scottie was born on December 23, 1938. He was an only child born to K.O. Shafar and Clara “Nadine” Shafar in Stet, Missouri. In the late 1960s, Scottie started working for the Credit Bureau of Kansas City until his retirement in 1998.
Scottie enjoyed collecting and refinishing antiques and spending time with his family. He was a kind, caring man that loved his grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family; he and his wife Marcella loved spending time between their homes in Kansas City, MO, Lake City, CO and Hudson, FL. As a Dad and Grandpa, he was always there with encouraging words, believing in us and helping in any way possible. His passing has made us heartbroken, and he will be missed.

Shafar; mother, Nadine Shafar; He is survived by his two sons, Craig (Dana) Shafar, Brian (Tammy) Shafar, grandchildren Nicholas Shafar, Samantha Shafar, Joseph Shafar, James (Carly) Duncan, Rebecca (Mick Larsen) Duncan, and Great Grandson Beckham Duncan.
