Shirley Dian Campbell-Tillman, a devoted wife, caring mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and loyal friend to many, passed away on June 23, 2023.
Shirley was born in Kansas City, Kansas on September 27, 1944 to parents, Daniel and Mary Porter. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1962 and soon after married Gary Campbell. They spent 27 wonderful years together before his passing and were blessed with two sons.
Shirley spent many years as a homemaker; and took great pride in caring for her family and her home. She also worked briefly for Hallmark Cards before retiring.
For nearly a decade, she was reliably known as the best score keeper for her son's countless baseball games. Family meant everything to Shirley. She never missed events that involved her children or grandchildren and was the best cheerleader one could ask for. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.
In 2013 she married, Jerry Tillman and they shared many wonderful memories together living at the lake in Warsaw where she enjoyed fishing. She also loved watching sports - especially her favorite teams, KU Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husbands, Garry Campbell and Jerry Tillman; son, David Campbell; and sister Linda Bean. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her son, Daniel (Leslie) Campbell; grandchildren Cassidy (Adam) Peepo, Evan (Ellisha) Campbell and Courtney Campbell; great-grandchildren Tucker Lange, Tatum Peepo and Tinley Peepo; brother Harry (Jackie) Porter; along with other extended relatives and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on June 28th at Terrace Park Cemetery - Lakeside Chapel from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed immediately by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
