Thomas Jackson

Thomas E. Jackson, 94, of Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at North Care Hospice House. Thomas was born September 13, 1923 to Cluade and Ina (Talley) Jackson in Williamson County, TN. He graduated from Franklin High School. Initially Tom wanted to study electrical engineering, but due to family responsibilities and lack of money, he was unable to do so. So his new plan was to join the Navy.  He was talked out of joining right away by his supervisor at his job, and in exchange at the young age of 17, he took a promotion to management with Kroeger.  Eventually he was due to be drafted, so in December of 1942 he joined the Navy. On December 1945, he married Uldine Allen, the love of his life. He attended CREI to specialize in Engineering, and got a job working for TWA. He retired in 2004, and continued to work as a contractor for many years after his official retirement from TWA. Tom enjoyed gardening, working on his computer, and was always involved with his church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 59 years, and a brother Claude Jackson Jr.

He is survived by his daughters; Gayle Jackson of Kansas City, MO, Jan (Kyle) Jackson of Arvada, CO, and his son Jim (Dianne) Jackson of Naples, FL. Also surviving is his sister Frances Oakes of Groves, TX, and nephew Tom S. Jackson (Beverly) of Franklin, TN, granddaughter Michele, and great grandchildren, Rowan and Asher.

Visitation will be Monday, April 23, 2018 at 12:00AM with Funeral Services immediately following at 1:00 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions go to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
