Thomas and Jane Johannes

Thomas J. Johannes, 92, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2022. He was born on November 2nd, 1929, in Kenosha, WI.

Jane C. (Karmann) Johannes passed peacefully on March 22nd, 2019. She was born on June 9th, 1930, in Kenosha, WI.

The couple first laid eyes on each other at Kenosha High School. Tom was the quarterback of their high school football team while Jane was a drum majorette. That’s where their love story began along with thousands of other beautiful stories of their time growing old together. These high school sweethearts were married for 69 years and grew a wonderful life of adventures together.

Tom was a longtime employee of Simmon’s, where he started in the mailroom and worked his way up to plant manager. Jane was a cosmetologist, a mother, and the food service manager at Park Hill High School.

Tom’s passions were golfing, woodworking, and working in his yard but always in the sun. Jane was very outgoing and loved shopping and cooking delicious meals for her family. They enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winters to escape the midwest cold.

This couple is survived by their children, Marybeth Thirtyacre-Garwood, Thomas J. Johannes Jr. (Betty), and Nancy Ducoulombier; Their grandchildren, Lisa Matlock (Bill), Brandt Thirtyacre, Anna Krauth (Brice), Whitney Ducoulombier, and Amber Ducoulombier; and 5 great-grandchildren.

This couple was preceded in death by their son Keith Johannes, son-in-law Skip Ducoulombier as well as their parents and grandparents.
