Vicki Ann Wacker

1954 – 2026

Vicki Ann Wacker, 72, passed away peacefully, surrounded by those she loved dearly; leaving behind a legacy rooted in unconditional love, family, and simple joys.

Born in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1954 to Donald and Jean Baert, Vicki grew up creating fond memories with a loving network of family and friends. Her family moved to Kansas City when she was 12, where she later graduated from Washington High School in 1972. It was there that she met her future husband Rusty. The fast friends began dating and were married in 1974. Side by side, they built a life with love, sharing 34 years until Rusty’s passing in 2008.

Vicki’s greatest pride in life was her children, Amanda and Andy. With Rusty working long hours, Vicki fulfilled her lifelong dream of being a stay-at-home mother, making her children her absolute priority. As her kids grew into teenagers, she re-entered the workforce, serving as an office manager for Hen House and Price Chopper for nearly 20 years.

In 2007 Vicki relocated to Smithville, Missouri, and later found love again with her wonderful partner, Wayne Lafallotte. Together, they built a warm home filled with laughter, great companionship, and their cherished dog, Penny and cat, Layla.

While she treasured being a mother, nothing compared to the pure elation Vicki felt when welcoming her one and only granddaughter, Kaley Ann, in 2018. Being "Grandma" was the joy of her life, and she poured her heart into every moment they shared.

Vicki attended Grace Community Church in Smithville. She had a passion for working in her yard, tending to her famous tomato garden, enjoying dinners at Margarita’s, and cheering on the Chiefs and Royals. A massive Paul McCartney fan, Vicki also adored George Brett, and loved telling the story of meeting him while pregnant with her daughter, promising she would name her baby George if it was a boy!

Vicki was preceded in death by her husband, Rusty; her father, Donald; her mother, Jean, her stepfather, Dick; and her brother, Greg.

Her legacy of love and kindness lives on in those she cherished most. She is survived by her daughter Amanda (Aaron); her son Andy (Christie); her treasured granddaughter, Kaley Ann; her long-time partner, Wayne; and her in-laws, Bill, Sandy, and Kelly Adkinson, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends.

Vicki was the absolute best mother, grandmother, partner, and friend, and her presence will be missed every day. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
