Obituary

Virginia Sue Oliver, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 24, 2026. Born on February 8, 1948, Virginia was a woman whose life was deeply rooted in faith and family. Throughout her years, she remained steadfast in her commitment to her loved ones and her devotion to her faith in Jesus Christ.

Virginia dedicated much of her life to raising her family, placing their needs and happiness above all else. Following those cherished years, she spent 15 years working as a bookkeeper, demonstrating a diligent and dependable work ethic.

With a passion for sewing and quilting, Virginia found joy in creating beautiful garments and quilts, especially for her daughters when they were young. She had a wonderful craft and skill set for sewing dresses for her girls. Her home was filled with the warmth of her handiwork and the love she poured into every stitch. Beyond her creative pursuits, Virginia was an enthusiastic baseball fan, proudly supporting both the Kansas City Royals and the Chicago Cubs.

Virginia’s legacy is one of unwavering devotion to family, faith, and a life lived with grace and purpose. She leaves behind memories cherished by all who knew her, a testament to a life well lived underpinned by love, dedication, and steadfast faith.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Richard Oliver; her parents, Chester and Sallie Grogan; her brother, Leroy Grogan; and her sister, Patricia Thomas.

She is survived by her daughters; Donna Oliver, and Marshella (Jim) Powell; grandsons, Clayton Resz, Matthew Resz, and Jacob Powell; sisters, Leona Madrigal, Edith Elless, and Glenda Bates, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life to honor Virginia will be held on May 4, 2026, beginning at 10: 30 am with inurnment following. Care of Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Located at 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City Missouri, 64155.
