William C. Lee, 91, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on February 8, 2026.

William "Bill" Lee was born on January 28, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, to James Lee and Nellie McCrossin Lee. He married the love of his life, Barbara Curtis. And they were united in marriage in June of 1954 and shared 72 wonderful years together.

Shortly after graduating from North Kansas City High School, Bill entered the fire academy and began what would become a distinguished 33-year career with the North Kansas City Fire Department, retiring as a Captain. Never one to sit idle, Bill also founded Lee’s Heating & Cooling, a business he proudly owned and operated for nearly 50 years.

Bill found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved sneaking off to the casino with Barbara, spending time boating with his family—creating countless cherished memories on the water—and meeting his friends daily at McDonald’s for coffee. Above all, he loved his family deeply and was affectionately known as “GG Pop.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, and his daughter, Cheryl Lee.

Bill will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his devoted wife, Barbara Lee; daughter, Kimberly Foster; granddaughter, Amber (Luke) Raynor; and great-grandchildren, Noah Nicholas Raynor, Finn Foster Raynor, and Whit William Raynor.

A Celebration of Life will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to St. Jude's.
