William M. Vanderford

William “Bill” M. Vanderford, a cherished member of the Kansas City community, bid farewell to this world on June 4, 2024. Born on September 7,1955, Bill was loved by all who knew him, he touched the hearts of many.

Son of Harry and Mable Vanderford, with Sandra June Vanderford being his biological mother.

Bill’s greatest joy in life was being a dad. His devotion to his children was unwavering, he found immense fulfillment in nurturing and guiding them through life’s journey. Whether sharing stories or teaching life lessons, Bill’s love for his children and his grandchildren knew no bounds. He was a beacon of light in his families lives.

Bill was an integral figure in the comic book industry and left behind a legacy known as a magazine dealer. His love for the art of the comic book industry was well known and evident. He had admiration and respect from enthusiast alike. He was a master on the grill and served as a dedicated cook for Smoke House BBQ for many years.

Beyond his professional pursuit, Bill loved playing the drums. His heart truly beat to the rhythm of music. He was extremely talented as a musician. He was an avid reader in all areas, as well as a strategic prowess at the game of chess.

In the hearts of all who knew him, Bill leaves behind a legacy of kindness and will be missed by all who knew him.

Bill is preceded in death by his loving parents: Harry and Mable Vanderford as well as his biological mother Sandra June Vanderford.

Bill is survived by 2 children Conan Vanderford (Jessica) and Valerie Vanderford: 3 brothers: Robert Vanderford (Pat), Johnny Ray Abner (Roxie), Guy Schmidt (Shelly): 2 grandchildren Nina Jo Carpenter and Emma Rose Vanderford

The family will receive friends and family on June 13, 2024 for a visitation from 11:00 – 12:00 at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, Lakeside Chapel

Service will be held at Terrace Park Lakeside Chapel June 13, 2024 at with Graveside following at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery.
