William Phillip “Bill” Lichner, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 3, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home on Saturday, December 11th with the visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am, following by a sharing of remembrances and military honors.
Bill was born on December 27, 1950 to Inez C Barna and William B. Lichner. He proudly served in the United States Navy in Patrol Squadron Nine Golden Eagles. He flew on the P-3 Orion aircraft locating and chasing Russian subs. After his time in the service, he worked as a “roughneck” on an oil rig in Lafayette, Louisiana. Bill was an avid sports fan and the day his beloved KC Chiefs won their second Super Bowl, he said “I can now die a happy man.” He loved his family unconditionally and was especially proud of his grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Bill Nigro; and sister-in-law, Antionette Nigro. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Angela “Angie”; his son, Billy Lichner (Neele); and daughter, Michelle Matheny (Dale); sisters, Connie Gray of Pasendina, CA, Suzanne Buser of Albuquerque, NM, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dan and Mary Kay Wilson, Anthony and Patricia Morreale and Lawrence Tuso,; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, many nieces nephews, and cousins.
