Frankie Austin

August 1, 1929 — November 15, 2022

Frankie Whittall Austin, 93,  of Lee's Summit, Mo joined the Church Triumphant on November 15, 2022. She was born on August 1, 1929, to the late William Jean and Zula  Merle Ray, Windsor Mo.

She spent her early years in Clinton, Warsaw and Windsor Mo where she graduated from Windsor High School in 1947.

On August 16, 1947 she married Loren D. Whittall and they moved to Kansas City MO, then to St Louis MO and Belleville IL where she raised 3 active children.  Frankie was a wife, mother and homemaker as they moved to Union, MO, Omaha, NE and back to Gladstone, MO in June 1969.

In August 1970 Frankie went to work for the Boy Scouts of America in Kansas City, KS, where she retired in 1983.

In June 1984, the love of her life, Loren, passed away. She missed him everyday.

On April 15, 1992 she married Fred Austin and became a bonus mom to his 3 grown children Clinton (Jeanell) Austin, Jim (Lynn) Austin and Mary (Darren) Schwenck and their children.

When Fred passed away in April 2010, she moved to Lee's Summit, MO to be closer to family.  Frankie loved to spend as much time as possible with all those she considered  her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their families.  Everyone loved Frankie and she loved them right back.

She is survived by daughter Linda Hendrix, Allen TX, Grandsons Daniel (Deana) Hendrix, Ft Worth, TX, Alex Whittall, Less Summit, MO, granddaughter Lily Whittall, Less Summit,  MO, great granddaughters Briana Russell, Buckner MO, Trista Hendrix, Ft WorthTX, great grandson Charles Hendrix, Ft Worth TX, sister Mildred Johnson, Parkville MO, and brother George Ray, Raytown MO.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, the Austin siblings and families, extended family and friends who will all greatly miss her.

Frankie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Loren D Whittall and Fred Austin, daughter Judy Lancaster, son Brian Whittall, granddaughter Sara Haddock, sister Janice Malone, and brother William Ray.

The family would like to thank Traditions Health, Aging-in-Place, and Comfort Keepers for the wonderful care, attention and love they gave to Frankie and her family during her final months.

If you choose in lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to The American Heart Association or the The American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be at Terrace Park Funeral located at 801 NW 108th St., KC, MO 64155 at 1 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2022. The funeral will follow immediately at 2 PM.Burial will be at terrace Park Cemetery.
