Harry Booth

Harry Lee Booth, 88, passed away on July 14, 2020. A visitation will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home on August 1, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of life.  A graveside inurnment service with Military Honors Ceremony will follow at the Memorial Garden Cemetery in Richmond, Missouri. Harry was born on November 18, 1931 in Kansas City, KS to Clarence and Georgia (Eddings) Booth. After graduating high school, Harry enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served for four years during the Korean War as a diesel mechanic. Upon his return to Kansas City he was set up on a blind date, where he met the love of his life, Jean Nicholson, and the two were married on June 8, 1957. From this marriage they had two children. Harry enjoyed working with his hands, collecting tools and working on projects, which carried over into his 40 year career as an airline mechanic with TWA. He restored classic cars and was also a talented woodworker. He and Jean loved dancing to big band music, traveling, and spending summers with family at their lake house, as well as, wintering in Southern Texas for the past 20 years. Harry loved living on their farm in Stet, Missouri, gardening, playing with his tractor, watching wildlife and visiting with the many friends and family there.  He was a proud member of Barry Christian Church and the American Legion in Richmond, MO. Harry is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Frances Simpson, Betty Bowden and Mary Brunsky.   He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Jean Booth; children Ellen Walbridge (Gary), and Dan Booth (Lesle), brother Marty Booth (Judy) grandchildren Daniel Booth (Deb), Brett Walbridge (Hilary), Derick Booth (Cheyanne) and Kevin Walbridge (Audi Anderson) and great grandchildren, Grace, Will, Connor and Avelynn.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to Barry Christian Church, 1500 NW Barry Road, Kansas City, Mo. 64155
