John Harmon

John Wayne Harmon, 69, passed away on August 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on July 21, 1952 to James Wayne Harmon and Dorothy Virginia Lawrence. He attended school in Independence, MO and after graduating high school, he continued his education earning his master degree and PhD. John worked for General Motors for nearly 35 years. When he wasn’t hard at work he enjoyed spending his time with his family, traveling all over the world, and he especially loved to golf. He made sure even when traveling to Hawaii, Barbardos, Mexico and throughout the United States, to set some time aside to golf.

He was the “Best Husband, Dad, and Grandpa by PAR” and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 25 years, Denise Lynn Harmon, his three sons Jesse Reece, Dustin Reece and Tyler Reece, along with their wives and children, Christa, Annette, Martin, Tyler, Maddux, Melah and Wyatt. He is also survived by sisters, Nancy and Alice and his in-laws, Ted and Carol.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8 from 11:00am-1:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm, all at Terrace Park Funeral Home.  Entombment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
