Linda Kay McDowell, 78, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully on April 18, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Everett Carl and Thelma Mae Lawhon on May 27, 1943. She was married to the love of her life, Darrel Lee McDowell.
Linda was employed at the Jones Store Co; located in Kansas City, for over 30 years.
Linda’s first relationship was Christ. She was a devout Christian who carried her faith into every part of her life. Linda had a heart of gold. She spent time taking care of others and loved deeply. Often, Linda enjoyed playing games with her children and grandchildren. She spent many nights playing card games and working on puzzles. She was a prankster, especially when it came to her family. She was a wonderful cook and the best candy maker. Linda had an immense joy for every animal. Her love was unconditional, and she will be remembered for touching the lives of those around her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrel; father and mother in law: Harold and Helen McDowell; and sister in law: Judy Miller.
She is survived by her sisters: Connie Farrell, and Janice Radar; her children: Rodney (Raylene) McDowell and Rochelle (Jim) Ecton; grandchildren: Amanda, Codey, Cameron, Carah, Payton, Makenna, Alex, Tanner, Paige, and Ty; and 9 great children.
