Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Frances Hager; grandson, Timothy Culbertson II, sisters, Ina Bell and Ruth Thiemer; brothers, Raymond Hager, Jim Hager and E.G. Hager; and her beloved German Shepherd, Dutchess.

She was born on September 14, 1930 in Gallatin, MO to Everett and Frances Hager. She attended school in Jamesport, MO. She graduated from high school in Jamesport where she sang in the choir and participated in school pageants, where one year she played the role of Miss America.

Lois moved to Kansas City and worked in sales for Montgomery Wards, Harzfeld’s, and Chaznoffs. She met and fell in love with Charles Patterson on her birthday and they married in 1951. They had three children, Linda, Ken and Keith.

Lois was a gifted artistic person. She took art lessons and painted many lovely pictures in watercolor and oil. She took ceramics and made beautiful objects. She helped start the Glen Haven Garden Club for the new housing developments so that homeowners could learn how to grow and preserve their trees. She was one of the early Presidents of the club and helped plan meetings. Her own garden contained roses and perennials. She frequently made flower arrangements for friends. Lois also enjoyed taking pictures of her family, flowers, and friends. She frequently shared these pictures and often had triplicate pictures made. Her family were even the recipients of copies of these pictures and treasured them.

Lois was an active member of the Independence Blvd Christian Church where she sang in the choir for 30 years. She served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, and participated in the Caravan Sunday School Class. She made all of the flower arrangements for the 100th anniversary celebration of her church.

She will be missed by her family and friends and will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and flowers. She was a woman of style and impeccable taste.
