Louis Rocco Accurso, 71, passed away Friday September 3, 2021. He was born Rocco Savino in Valigo Basilicata, Italy, May 9, 1950. The youngest of seven children, he was given the opportunity to come to the United States where he was adopted by close relatives, Louis and Rose (LaSalle) Accurso. Upon arrival in Kansas City, his name was changed to Louis Rocco Accurso.

Louis married and had three sons with Cecilia (Charisse) Accurso (Rivas), Louis Salvador, Dominic, and Louis Rocco II. He later met Diane (Fuller) through a mutual friend and married. He also gained a daughter, Sue Grover

He worked on the docks at Montgomery Wards until he decided to let his entrepreneurial spirit lead his life in a new direction. Louis started a janitorial business and a moving/delivery service (A&A). After retiring from the moving business, Louis drove a school bus for the Platte County School District. Upon retirement from the School District, he spent his free time tending his grape vines, working in his garden, and raising cattle.

He believed in working hard to provide for his family, but managed to always find time to be a husband, father, mentor, soccer/wrestling coach, and friend. Everyone was welcome at his house and table where there was never a shortage of conversation, pasta, meatballs, and wine.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Rose Accurso, in-laws Audrey and Fred Fuller, and sisters Filomena, Giovanna, and Maria Molle. He leaves behind wife, Diane Accurso, brothers, Vincenzo and Antonio Savino, Sister Antonietta, daughter Sue Grover, Phil Grover (son-in-law), sons Louis Salvador Accurso, Dominic Accurso, Louis Rocco Accurso II, grandchildren Louis Tyler Accurso, Sarah and Daniel Dietz, Joshua Grover, and great granddaughter Mya Dietz.
