Louise Morlan

(June) Louise Morlan, 94, of Kansas City, passed away on April 8, 2021.

Louise was born December 11, 1926 in Pollock, MO to Harl and Fern (Harris) Altizer. She graduated from Milan High School in 1943. She attended some college at KSTC.

In 1944, Louise married Basil L. Morlan. Louise spent a short time teaching while she was young. After Louise and Basil had their son, Tony, she became a stay-at-home mom in Macon, Mo. After the family moved to Kirksville, Mo in 1966 she started “Spinning Wheel Antiques.” Basil would refinish the antique furniture and other items while Louise would buy and sell.

Louise and Basil moved to Kansas City, MO to be near their son and his family. There she continued buying and selling antiques and did appraisals for others. She became known in the antique industry and had buyers from all over come to Missouri to work with her.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Basil in 2010; and two siblings, Patricia Gramling and Bob Altizer.

She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her son, Tony (Pamela) Morlan; grandchildren, Nicholas (Teresa) Morlan and Jennifer (John) Carr; great-grandchildren, Henry Morlan, Oliver Morlan, Clayton Carr, and Makaela Carr.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 pm Monday, April 12 at Terrace Park Funeral Home followed by a graveside service in Terrace Park Cemetery.
