Lucina Holloway

October 8, 1925 — August 31, 2021

Lucina “Lou” Holloway, age 95, of Kansas City, passed away on Aug 31, 2021.  Visitation will be Wed, Sept 8, from 10-11am followed by services at 11am, all at Terrace Park Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.  Please omit flowers.

Lou was a member of Antioch Community Church for over 65 years.  She was a volunteer for Clay County Clothes Closet, serving as president and buyer.  She was inducted into the Missouri Seniors Hall of Fame at Jefferson City in 1995 for her work on the campaign for a new clothes closet building that was dedicated on May 14, 1995.  She was also nominated for the Anne Robb Townsend Tribune for Excellence Award that was in Peak Magazine.

Lou was a pioneer volunteer for Northland Christmas Store.  She made hundreds of blankets over several years for Truman Medical Nursery with help from her daughter, Vicky, as well as five to six hundred baby hats per year for several years.  Lou was still making hats to the end of her life, on a smaller scale.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Edith Heldstab, son, Roy Jr., daughter, Vicky, her first husband, Roy Holloway, and her second husband, Russell Sadler.  She is survived by her son, Dennis Holloway and partner, Mary Hayes; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 14 great great grandchildren.

Lou loved her family and her church family very much.  Bless all of you.
