Maxine Chadwick

Maxine Chadwick, 91, passed away July 26, 2021, with her family at her side.  Private services will be held at Solid Rock Bible Church with private burial to follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.

Maxine was born on November 21, 1929, in Linden, Missouri, the second oldest of 15 children born to Richard W. and Alice Lucille (Burch) West.  She was a graduate of North Kansas City High School.  Following high school, Maxine worked as a Comptometer Operator at National Bellas Hess, and later worked at the Dairy Maid (now Big Burger) and as an Office Cashier for Montgomery Ward.

Maxine married John “Jack” Chadwick on January 12, 1951, and they recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.  She was a longtime member of Avondale Baptist Church, enjoyed reading (especially Christian romance novels), Hallmark movies, cooking, and Country and Western music (even though Jack preferred Big Band.)

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Sr. and Lucille West; sisters:  Sharen, Wanda, Marilyn, and Becky; and brothers, Mark and R. W.  She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Chadwick; two children, Elaine West (husband, Bruce) and Jack C. Chadwick; grandchildren:  Jared West (wife, Amber), Josh West (wife, Diedre), and Jordan West (wife, Anna); great grandchildren:  Payton, Preston, Gabriella, Nathanial, Lucas, Savannah, and Belle West, and one great grandchild on the way, Brooks West; siblings:  Juanita Bailey, Donna Soehlig, Georgia Ann Cross, Paul West (wife, Carolyn), Karen Barylski, Jack West, Jacqueline Zimmerle (husband, Kenny), and Pam Jackson (husband, Dan); plus many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
