Roger Kirchhoff

August 15, 1942 — June 21, 2022

Roger Martin Kirchhoff, 79, of Mokena, Illinois passed away on June 21, 2022.

Roger was born on August 15, 1942 in Deshler, Nebraska to parents, Martin and Lola Kirchhoff. After high school, he continued his education at Hastings College where he received a Bachelor in Business. Soon after, Roger began his long 35-year career in Marketing working for Standard Oil then Amoco. He was transferred around the midwest until he was placed outside Chicago for a ‘short time’, 20 years, where he developed the Certicare program that was instituted in the Chicagoland area.  In his spare time he enjoyed playing tennis with his family, golf, running, and photography. In his retirement year his main hobby was woodworking, which he took to another level building furniture and enhancing home decor, and traveling with friends.

Roger is preceded in death by his first wife Audry, wife Rilla Jo and step grandson Neil Swanson.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children, Kelly (Laura) Kirchhoff, Todd Kirchhoff and grandchildren Kyle (Laura), Alexandria and Kristopher. Step children Eric Swanson, LeaAnn Haar and her grandchildren Alex (Marjorie), Nathan and Laura.

Siblings Barb (Kenny) Buchanan, James (Bonnie) Kirchhoff and Kathy (Rick) Hergott, 7 nephews/spouses and many cousins.

A visitation will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home on Sunday, June 26th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. The funeral service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Monday, June 27th at 10:00 a.m., immediately followed by the graveside services at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation - diabetes.org or the National Parkinson's Association - parkinson.org
