Patricia K. Cofer

Patricia (Pat) Kaye Cofer (nee Simon) of Fullerton, CA passed away on July 25, 2022.   Pat was born in Sedalia, MO on November 10, 1950.  The family moved to the Kansas City area in 1952.  Pat graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1968 and completed her undergraduate degree at Central Missouri State College in 1972 where she earned her BA in Education and English.  She taught at Raymore-Peculiar High School and then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate at the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1981.  Pat married Tom Edward Cofer of Lee’s Summit, MO on June 8, 1974.  Pat and Tom moved to California in 1987 where Pat was General Counsel for Beckman Coulter, Inc. until she retired.  Pat enjoyed reading, watching classic movies, and researching family genealogy.   She is proceeded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Agnes Simon.

Thomas E. Cofer

Thomas (Tom) Edward Cofer of Fullerton, CA passed away on  August 10, 2022.  Tom grew up in Lee’s Summit, MO and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1967.  Tom completed his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice in 1972 and later a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice at Central Missouri State College. Tom and Pat were married for 48 years.  Tom and Pat moved to California in 1987 where Tom worked as the Director of Security for Marriott Hotels until his retirement. Tom enjoyed automobiles, baseball, golf and was an avid reader.  His prized possession was has his father’s 1966 Ford Mustang.   Tom was proceeded in death by his parents  Nadine Cofer (Alley) and William R. Cofer.

On October 29, 2022, a private visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and grave side services will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Lake Side Chapel at Terrace Park Cemetery, 801 NW 108th Street (Shoal Creek Parkway), Kansas City, MO 64155.
