Veda Roush

February 24, 1937 — April 26, 2022

Veda M. Roush, 85, of Gladstone, Missouri passed away on April 26, 2022.

Veda was born on February 24, 1937 in Wister, Oklahoma to her parents, George and Dorothy Shipley. She along with her two brothers and sister grew up in Wister, Dustin, and other locations in Oklahoma.  Her father passed when she was about one year old, and her mother remarried a few years later to Earl D. Griffin. Her mother passed when she was in high school, and soon after, moved to the Kansas City area. While in Kansas City, she raised her family and began a cosmetology business before moving to Odessa, Texas. She eventually moved back to the Kansas City area where she married her longtime acquaintance in the church family, John Roush. Veda worked for many years as a cosmetologist, and in her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She and John were proud members of Northland Cathedral and spent over twenty years working with various church groups. They traveled all over the United States, and to other countries, helping with mission trips, constructing new churches, and sharing their strong Christian faith with those in need of a helping hand.

Veda is preceded in death by her parents, sister - Doris Thornberg, and granddaughter – Mischelle Holmes Hill. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, John Roush; daughters: Darlene (Bill), Arlene (Kerstan) and Jacki (Pete), step-sons: John and Jason (Shannon), brothers: Earl (Roberta) and Larry Don Griffin, plus many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one newly arrived great-great grandson.
